Heather Cooper is a certified Dyslexia teacher with over 16 years of experience in the classroom. She holds many certifications which include Generalist (Early Childhood - 4th grade), English as a Second Language (Early Childhood - 12th grade), and Special Education (Early Childhood - 12th grade). Heather graduated from Texas A&M University - Commerce with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Skills. She is currently enrolled in the Dallas Baptist University Graduate Program and is seeking her Masters of Teaching degree, as well as her Certified Academic Language Therapist Certification through DBU and the prestigious Shelton School of Learning. She has spent her over 16 years of experience teaching 1st and 2nd grade, as well as being a Dyslexia Specialist and ESL teacher. Heather has also done private tutoring for over 11 years helping a range of student ages, and their specific needs. Her extensive training and experience working with literacy and the foundations of reading and spelling will be beneficial for a student needing assistance in those areas of academics. Heather enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, reading, coffee, and supporting small businesses!
